hills forming a protective cover no enemy could approach the fort without
being seen. At the entrance is the grand gateway, the ganesh pol,
exquisitely carved and painted with frescoes - in a distinctly mughal styel
of decoration . The gateway leads to the hall of public audience with its
cooling pools and cascades and a hall of mirrors which was the envy of the
mughals. The halls are decorated with mirrors. The nerve center of jaipur is
the city palace- the largest structure in the city built by Sawai Jai Singh.
